It can be so hard to get kids to do the things they’re supposed to! And when we are constantly fighting with our kids over chores, behaviors, or habits they seem to respond amazingly to reward charts! So we have always made up some sort of fun looking reward chart for kids!

It’s a great visual way for them to see how they are doing with their goal! We like to tie some sort of incentive to our reward charts- hence the name!

How to use a Reward Chart for Kids

Kids Reward Charts for motivation

I mean the idea here is pretty simple. Choose behavior, earn a sticker, fill in chart get a reward!

But let me go into a little more depth on how we have used Printable Reward Charts. Because we have used them to stop bad behaviors, encourage good behaviors and even get our daughter to happily go to school!

So to stop bad behaviors it’s important to really illustrate for your kids what behavior they do need to be doing in order to earn their sticker. If they are having a hard time using potty words, give them options of other words they can use instead. Then when they choose to use those words instead of the potty words, they get to earn a sticker on their chart!

Not only does this help them give up the bad behavior but teaches and reinforces the good behavior!

We have used our reward chart for kids to help encourage good behaviors such as making their bed, unloading the dishwasher, or playing nice with their siblings.

Annnd when our daughter was struggling going to school because she didn’t want to miss out on things going on at home we used it to motivate her to go to school happily!

It’s a really great way to track success and to help encourage your kids to exhibit the behaviors they want!
