I love General Conference, and my whole family looks forward to it every year! If you haven’t read about our General Conference traditions you can do so here. While I have young children and those traditions work for us, I wanted to create some General Conference Activities for Youth.

Really I wanted to have something that was a little more engaging with General Conference, rather than just keeping toddlers quiet! I came up with a couple of ideas to help encourage and motivate the youth to listen to General Conference.

I hope these ideas will help you and your older kids and teenagers get more out of General Conference. It can be a long time to sit and listen, but I know there are great rewards that come from hearing and hearkening to the words of the prophet and apostles!

If you have never tuned into General Conference, I invite you to join us here. It’s a semi-annual conference held by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And a great opportunity to develop faith, feel hope, and learn more about Jesus Christ!

General Conference Topic Tracking Game

General Conference Activities

As kids we used to play Bingo during General Conference. I remember listening intently for those 25 words listed on my bingo card so I could win a treat!

This General Conference topic tracking game is a similar idea without the Bingo aspect.

Simply print out the game, and fill in each of the 12 squares with a word or phrase you think will be mentioned frequently during general conference. These could be names, events, phrases or things you think will be addressed! I could see my obnoxious teenager self writing down words like and, the, it, so you may need to clarify they need to be a topic!

Have everyone fill out their paper with the words/phrases they think will be said the most!

Then listen to General Conference and every time you heard what you wrote in that box you get to to add a tally. Play for all session of general conference or just for one!

You can make this even more exciting by offering prizes or incentives for the person who gets the most tallies, has the most words with over ten tallies, or other variations!

This is one of the General Conference activities for youth that will help them listen and recognize the messages shared!

General Conference Guessing Game

General Conference Game

This general conference guessing game is a fun way to guess everything about General Conference. What songs will be sung, topics discussed, and fun things such as colors of tie worn by President Nelson.

This game is great for the whole family! Everyone can take their guesses and then wait to see what they get correct.

It’s another way to keep them listening, and interested! I love when they announce the intermediate hymn and we all check to see if we were right! Or when President Nelson stands up each session and we see what color tie he is wearing!

Your family will have tons of fun with this guessing game and it’s another on of my General Conference Activities for Youth that will help them learn to love Conference!

General Conference Note Taking

General Conference Journal Pages

I do so much better taking notes when I have a format to guide my note taking. It’s also easier for me to look back at my notes and see what I was thinking when they’re organized well!

While the two previous games are fun and really help youth listen to General Conference, I feel like note taking is a great way for it to really sink in. And a good resource in the future to look back on and remember how you felt while listening to General Conference.

I created this General Conference Note Taking Sheet to help youth and adults keep track of what they heard, how it made them feel and goals they want to set! This format is easy to look back on and see how you wanted to implement what you heard!

My favorite pens for note taking are the marker side of the Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Simple black Micron Pens, and fun colorful Ball-Point Pens! As silly as it may sound, having fun new pens to take notes with makes it that much more enjoyable. Then again, I’m a really sucker for anything you write with!

I hope you and your family have a great time watching General Conference this year. It’s a time I always look forward to and do everything possible to make it a good experience for my kids.

As a result we all love and enjoy General Conference weekend!

I hope as you use these General Conference Activities for youth, your family can enjoy Conference too!
